The Fire Division is under the command of Deputy Chief James Thompson and Assistant Chief Leon Jacobs. The Fire Division is responsible for protecting approximately 2.2 square miles and nearly 3,000 people who live and work in the Town of Fairmont. The Fire Chiefs lead a volunteer staff of 24 dedicated fire protection professionals and are committed to protecting the life and property through effective fire suppression services and fire prevention awareness training to youth and adults in the community. The Division is comprised of two organizational units; fire suppression and fire prevention. The Division is committed to building and maintaining a safe, prosperous, and vibrant community through effective fire prevention and emergency preparedness programs. The Division holds a Fire Rating 5, which saves Fairmont City citizens and business owners on their annual fire insurance premiums.
